On World Soil Day, Solidaridad and the ICAR–Indian Institute of Soil Science (IISS) inaugurated the Professor Rattan Lal Awards for Excellence in Regenerative Agriculture in Bhopal. This new annual award honors contributions to soil health and sustainable
farming across India. Professor Rattan Lal, a renowned soil scientist, addressed the ceremony virtually from the U.S., emphasizing the need for soil restoration for food security and climate action. The inaugural Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Dr. M.H. Mehta for his leadership in eco-agriculture.
