Sandy Springs police have shut down Nubia Café and Restaurant on Roswell Road following a shooting incident that occurred early Saturday morning. The establishment was found to be operating as an illegal after-hours club. At approximately 5:43 a.m. on Saturday,
officers responded to reports of a shooting at the location. Investigations revealed that a fight inside the business escalated into the parking lot, where 28-year-old Bienvenu Deounoudjou allegedly shot a 34-year-old man multiple times. Deounoudjou also inadvertently shot himself in the leg. Both men received hospital treatment, and the victim has since been released. Deounoudjou was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. A subsequent inspection by the Sandy Springs Police Department, Fire Department, and Code Enforcement on Wednesday led to citations for business owner Frank Lyonga for multiple operating violations, including the lack of required state licenses and city permits, resulting in the immediate closure of the establishment.
