What's Happening?
Treiber Farms, in collaboration with VSOP Projects, is hosting the fourth annual Art Basil festival on September 27 and 28, 2025. This unique event combines art and agriculture, showcasing local artists' works in an agricultural setting. Attendees can view film photographs, landscape paintings, blown glass vessels, and participate in a pumpkin design showcase. The festival includes an open-call community project where local creatives contribute masks or silhouettes to be displayed in the barn. The event aims to blend the sensory experience of farming with the creativity of art, offering a different vibe from traditional exhibits.
Why It's Important?
Art Basil 2025 highlights the intersection of art and agriculture, promoting local artists and fostering community engagement. By integrating art into a farm setting, the festival offers a unique platform for artists to showcase their work in a non-traditional environment. This approach not only supports local creativity but also encourages visitors to appreciate the artistic potential of everyday agricultural spaces. The event strengthens community ties and provides exposure to artists who might not typically have access to gallery spaces, broadening the scope of art appreciation on the North Fork.
