What's Happening?
AmaWaterways has announced the expansion of its Africa Safaris & Wildlife Cruise program with four new itineraries starting in August 2026. These journeys combine a luxurious three-night Chobe River cruise
aboard the Zambezi Queen with immersive land programs featuring destinations like Victoria Falls, Kenya, Namibia, Zanzibar, and the Skeleton Coast. The itineraries range from 9 to 18 nights and offer exceptional wildlife viewing alongside cultural, culinary, and landscape experiences. The expansion aims to provide travelers with authentic and enriching African experiences, supported by sustainable tourism practices.
Why It's Important?
The introduction of new itineraries by AmaWaterways highlights the growing interest in African tourism, particularly in wildlife and cultural experiences. By offering diverse and immersive travel options, AmaWaterways is catering to travelers seeking unique and authentic experiences beyond traditional safari tours. This expansion supports local communities through sustainable tourism, promoting economic growth and cultural exchange. The focus on eco-friendly travel aligns with global trends towards responsible tourism, enhancing the appeal of Africa as a travel destination.
What's Next?
The new itineraries are available for departures in 2026 and 2027, providing travelers with more options to explore Southern and Eastern Africa in comfort and style. As these itineraries gain popularity, they may influence other travel companies to expand their offerings in Africa, further boosting the continent's tourism industry. AmaWaterways' commitment to sustainable tourism practices may also encourage other operators to adopt similar approaches, contributing to the preservation of Africa's natural and cultural heritage.
