What's Happening?
In Papua New Guinea, military leaders, government officials, and disaster response professionals from the Indo-Pacific region gathered for a Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Response Tabletop Exercise (TTX) and Field Training Exercise (FTX). Hosted
by the Center for Excellence in Disaster Management and Humanitarian Assistance, the exercises aimed to improve coordination and refine operating procedures for natural disasters. Participants engaged in realistic scenarios to enhance communication and decision-making skills, focusing on the region's vulnerability to earthquakes, tsunamis, and tropical cyclones.

The exercises are crucial for strengthening disaster preparedness in Oceania, a region prone to natural disasters.
