What's Happening?
Pupils from Broughton-in-Furness Church of England Primary School participated in a hands-on conservation event at Hardknott Forest in the Lake District. Supported by the Lake District Foundation's Real Hedge Fund, the event allowed students to engage
in activities such as setting up camera traps, planting willow pegs, and exploring the woodland. These activities are part of the Upper Duddon Landscape Recovery Project, which aims to restore habitats and improve environmental quality in the area. The initiative provides practical conservation experience and educates students on the importance of environmental stewardship.
