What's Happening?
The State Fair of Texas has announced a new partnership with Cavender's Boot City, designating it as the Official Western Wear Store of Big Tex. This collaboration involves Cavender's designing Big Tex's signature Western shirt and working with Resistol
to provide his iconic 95-gallon cowboy hat. This partnership brings together three Texas institutions, celebrating the heritage and traditions of the Lone Star State. Big Tex's new look will be unveiled at the 2026 State Fair of Texas, themed 'Stars, Stripes, and Howdies,' running from September 25 to October 18. The fair has been a significant cultural event for Texans, bringing together generations for 140 years.
Why It's Important?
The partnership between the State Fair of Texas and Cavender's highlights the importance of cultural heritage and local business collaboration in Texas. By involving well-known Texas brands like Cavender's and Resistol, the fair reinforces its commitment to celebrating Texan traditions and craftsmanship. This move not only enhances the fair's cultural significance but also supports local businesses, potentially boosting their visibility and sales. The fair's ability to attract large crowds annually means that such partnerships can have a substantial economic impact, benefiting the local economy and promoting Texas's cultural identity on a broader scale.
