Segilola Resources Operating Limited (SROL), Nigeria's first large-scale gold mining company, has expanded its Livelihood Restoration Programme by launching the Plantain Rehabilitation Programme and advancing its Cocoa Rehabilitation Programme. This initiative
aims to provide agricultural support to 100 farmers across its host communities in Osun State. The handover ceremony, held at the New Iperindo Town Hall, included traditional rulers, community leaders, and beneficiaries. The programme is part of SROL's commitment to sustainable community development, focusing on creating long-term economic opportunities by supporting agriculture and promoting environmentally sustainable income-generating activities. Since 2023, SROL has implemented various initiatives to restore and improve the livelihoods of project-affected persons, including fish farming, vegetable farming, and phased seedling distribution. The current phase involves providing high-yield cocoa seedlings and agrochemicals to 70 beneficiaries and plantain suckers to 30 beneficiaries.
