In northwest Turkey, a violent clash between Islamic State militants and police resulted in the deaths of three police officers and six militants. The confrontation occurred in the Elmali district of Yalova province, south of Istanbul, during a police operation
targeting a house where the militants were hiding. The operation was part of a larger effort involving over 100 simultaneous raids against IS suspects across 15 provinces in Turkey.
