Fincantieri's subsidiary, WASS Submarine Systems, has secured a $235 million contract with the Indian Navy to supply Black Shark Advanced torpedoes for Scorpène-class submarines. This contract, the largest in WASS's history, includes the delivery of torpedoes,
launch systems, and maintenance equipment. Production will occur at WASS's facility in Livorno, Italy, with deliveries scheduled between 2028 and 2030.
