What's Happening?
The International Co-operative Alliance (ICA) is actively participating in the B20 group, which provides direct policy recommendations to the G20 leaders. The B20 serves as a platform for dialogue among policymakers, civil society, and businesses, including
co-operatives. The ICA has been involved in ensuring that co-operatives are considered in solutions for small and medium businesses, employment, and education. The G20, comprising 19 countries and the European Union, accounts for a significant portion of the global economy and trade. The B20 and G20 forums are hosted by different member states annually, with the B20 currently consisting of 706 members from 39 countries. The ICA's involvement in the B20 has intensified since 2014, with representatives participating in various task forces to advocate for co-operatives.
