The U.S. Army, in collaboration with AMTEC Corporation, has inaugurated a new 40mm grenade production line and test range at AMTEC's facility in Janesville, Wisconsin. This development is part of the Army's broader initiative to modernize the Defense
Industrial Base (DIB) and enhance munitions production capabilities. The new facility includes a 72,000-square-foot manufacturing area and a 200-meter indoor test range, representing a $21 million investment. This is the 11th new facility established by the Army since 2022, as part of a $5.5 billion investment in infrastructure and munitions production, marking the largest such investment since World War II. The new production line introduces automation and flexibility, transitioning from a manual to a high-volume automated process, which is expected to improve safety and efficiency.
