The British and Irish Dental Editors and Writers Forum (BIDEWF) has awarded the New Communicator Award to two graduate authors who published articles in BDJ Portfolio publications. Rebecca Silver, a dental
nurse from London, won the first prize of £500 for her article 'Hierarchy in dentistry: A dental nurse perspective,' published in BDJ Team. Rachel Sladden, a dentist specializing in pediatric dentistry, won the second prize for her article on the impact of artificial intelligence on oral surgery, published in BDJ in Practice. The awards ceremony took place at the Royal Air Force Club in London, followed by the BIDEWF annual dinner. The awards are sponsored by the British Dental Industry Association (BDIA).
