What's Happening?
The Mid-Ohio Educational Service Center (MOESC) has introduced a School Psychology Mentorship Program for high school students. The program offers hands-on experience in psychology, covering topics such as mental health support, crisis prevention, and special
education. Participants will shadow certified school psychologists and engage in applied learning experiences. The initiative aims to inspire students to pursue careers in psychology and education, providing valuable skills and insights into the field.
Why It's Important?
The mentorship program addresses the growing need for mental health professionals in schools, offering students early exposure to the field. By providing practical experience, the program helps students make informed career choices and strengthens their college applications. This initiative supports the development of future professionals equipped to address mental health challenges in educational settings. Encouraging interest in school psychology can lead to improved mental health resources and support for students nationwide.
