What's Happening?
The 3rd Combat Aviation Brigade at Fort Stewart, Georgia, is integrating unmanned aerial systems (UAS) with traditional helicopter platforms to enhance battlefield readiness. Soldiers have received training
on the Expeditionary Manufacturing Cell (xCell) and FPV drones, allowing for rapid production and repair of drone components in the field. This integration aims to augment the capabilities of Apache, Black Hawk, and Chinook helicopters by using drones for reconnaissance, loitering munitions, and live video feeds, thereby improving mission effectiveness and reducing vulnerability.
