The Tech Transparency Project (TTP) has released a report identifying numerous AI 'nudify' apps available on Google and Apple's app stores. These applications, which can digitally remove clothing from
images of women, have been downloaded over 705 million times globally, generating $117 million in revenue. TTP found 55 such apps on the Google Play Store and 48 on Apple's App Store. In response, Google has suspended several of these apps, while Apple has removed 28, although two were later reinstated. This issue is not new, as both companies have previously faced criticism for allowing similar apps to slip through their review processes.
