Eva Schloss, a Holocaust survivor and stepsister to Anne Frank, has died at the age of 96. Schloss, who co-founded the Anne Frank Trust UK, was a prominent figure in Holocaust education. Born in Austria,
her family fled to Amsterdam to escape Nazi persecution, where they became neighbors with the Frank family. Both families went into hiding in 1942 but were eventually discovered. Schloss survived Auschwitz, while her father and brother did not. After the war, she moved to London, where she married and later became a stepdaughter to Otto Frank, Anne's father. Schloss dedicated her life to educating young people about the Holocaust, founding the Anne Frank Trust in 1990 and writing several books on her experiences.
