Chevron Mediterranean Limited, a unit of Chevron, has signed an agreement with Israel Natural Gas Lines to construct a natural gas pipeline from Israel's Leviathan gas field to Egypt. The Leviathan Project, operated by Chevron, will facilitate the transmission of natural gas through the Nitzana Project, connecting the Israeli and Egyptian transmission systems. NewMed Energy, which holds a significant stake in Leviathan, announced the project will include a pipeline and compressor station in southern Israel, extending approximately 65 kilometers to the Nitzana border crossing. The pipeline is expected to deliver up to 600 million cubic feet of gas per day to Egypt, addressing the country's increasing demand for natural gas.
