What's Happening?
Idaho State University is celebrating Earth Day with a series of film screenings that highlight environmental themes. The Pocatello Film Society will show 'The Biggest Little Farm,' a documentary about sustainable farming, and the 'Lord of the Rings'
trilogy, known for its environmental undertones. The screenings are part of the '20 Favorite Films Over the Last 20 Years' series and aim to promote awareness of conservation and sustainability. The events will take place at the Bengal Theater, with admission priced at $1 or free for ISU students.
Why It's Important?
These screenings provide an opportunity to engage the community in discussions about environmental stewardship through the lens of popular films. 'The Biggest Little Farm' offers a real-world example of sustainable agriculture, while 'The Lord of the Rings' trilogy, with its themes of nature and conservation, encourages viewers to reflect on the importance of protecting the environment. By hosting these events, Idaho State University fosters a sense of community and raises awareness about environmental issues, aligning with broader efforts to promote sustainability.
