What's Happening?
At the Saras Aajeevika Mela, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini launched two online portals aimed at supporting self-help groups (SHGs) in the state. The Swaapan Digital Gram Bazar Portal and the Sanjha
Bazaar Sales Portal are designed to enhance the economic independence of rural women by providing platforms for the global display and sale of their products. These initiatives align with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of an Atmanirbhar Bharat, promoting local artisans and entrepreneurs. The portals will facilitate product registration, order management, and sales tracking, offering SHGs continuous market access and transparency.
Why It's Important?
The launch of these portals is a significant step towards empowering women and promoting self-reliance in Haryana. By providing SHGs with access to broader markets, these platforms can increase their economic opportunities and contribute to the state's development. The initiative supports the government's Vocal for Local campaign, encouraging the production and consumption of indigenous goods. This move not only strengthens the local economy but also enhances the visibility and competitiveness of products made by rural women, potentially leading to increased income and improved livelihoods.
