Amaroq, a Greenland-based mining company, has announced the discovery of rare earth element (REE) mineralization within the Nunarsuit mineral license area in South Greenland. This marks Amaroq's first
confirmed high-grade REE occurrence, signifying a strategic move into the REE and critical minerals sector. The discovery is part of the Gardaq ApS joint venture operated by Amaroq. The Ilua pegmatite zone on the Nunarsuit license has been confirmed to host REE mineralization, with grades reaching up to 2.31% total rare earth oxide (TREO). The zone is situated in the Gardar igneous province, which contains up to 20% of global REE resources. Assay results indicate an average composition of 27% heavy and 73% light REEs, with 21% comprising key magnet metals such as neodymium, praseodymium, dysprosium, and terbium. Amaroq plans further exploration and evaluation, with a scout drilling campaign anticipated in spring 2026.
