The Directorate of Enforcement (ED) conducted searches on December 17, 2025, at five premises in Imphal related to Yambem Biren and Narengbam Samarjit, who have styled themselves as the 'Chief Minister' and 'External Affairs & Defence Minister' of the 'Manipur
State Council'. These individuals are under investigation for money laundering, having allegedly collected over ₹50 crore from the public through fraudulent investment schemes.
