UAE-based Edge Group and U.S. startup Anduril have announced a production alliance to develop the Omen Tailsitter Uncrewed Aircraft System (UAS). The Omen UAS, weighing approximately 1,000 lbs, is designed
for autonomous operations and is the first in a series of systems planned by the Edge-Anduril Production Alliance. An undisclosed UAE customer is set to acquire 50 Omen systems. The design, championed by Anduril founder Palmer Luckey, features a novel configuration with sail-plane wings and hybrid propulsion, aimed at disrupting current maritime patrol and special mission aircraft. The aircraft is intended for the Indo-Pacific theater, supporting various missions with its ability to carry multiple payloads.
