The China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC) has announced progress in the delivery of the Royal Thai Navy's S26T diesel-electric submarine. After delays due to engine selection, the submarine is now expected to be delivered by the end of 2028. The revised
contract between Thailand and CSSC includes the use of China's CHD620 marine diesel engine, replacing the previously intended German MTU 396 engine, which faced export restrictions.
