Jeanette Marie Galatte, a beloved member of the Hickory Hill community, passed away peacefully on September 11, 2025, at the age of 87. Born in Chicago, she was a devoted single mother and an active member of her parish, Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Jeanette, known as Jan, was a talented musician and educator, having owned and directed Jan Marie Studios in Chicago where she taught dance. Later in life, she found her true calling as a piano teacher, sharing her passion for music with students of all ages. Her involvement in the church included participation in the Senior Fun Club and the Prayer Shawl Club. Jan is survived by her three daughters, ten grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren, along with many other family members and friends. A visitation and Mass of Christian Burial are scheduled for September 16 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, followed by entombment at Good Shepherd Catholic Cemetery.
