A cyberattack targeting Poland's energy grid was identified as a wiper malware attack, likely orchestrated by the Russian hacker group Sandworm. The attack aimed to disrupt electricity delivery operations
by erasing data and code on servers. Despite the attempt, the attack did not succeed in causing any power outages. The malware, dubbed DynoWiper, was discovered by security firm ESET, which attributed the attack to Sandworm based on the tactics and techniques used. This incident coincides with the 10th anniversary of a similar attack in Ukraine that resulted in a temporary blackout.
