What's Happening?
The South Salt Lake Community Center has unveiled a new mural titled 'A World in Bloom' in its Childcare Room. Commissioned by South Salt Lake Arts and Promise South Salt Lake, the mural was created by local artist Trevor Dahl. The artwork transforms
the room into a vibrant, flowing mountain nature-scape, designed to resemble a children's book. Dahl, drawing on his experience as an early-childhood Montessori teacher, intentionally incorporated bold shapes, relatable animals, and hand-drawn lines to foster a sense of human connection. The mural also includes interactive elements, inviting children to find hidden objects like a ladybug with four spots, count raindrops, and locate eggs in a nest. The color palette of the mural was carefully matched to the room's existing toys, carpets, and the outdoor environment to create a cohesive and imaginative space.
