Sheila M. Perkovich, a lifelong resident of Chicago, passed away on November 24, 2025, at the age of 84. She is remembered for her dedication to education and her vibrant community involvement. Sheila was
a graduate of Loyola University, where she developed a passion for travel during a study abroad program in Rome. She dedicated 36 years to teaching second and third grade in Chicago and Ridgeland Public Schools before retiring in 1998. Sheila was actively involved in various Chicago institutions, including the St. Clemens Parish, Chicago Art Institute, Chicago History Museum, the Field Museum, and the Columbia Yacht Club. Her family, including her sister-in-law Jo Ann Putz and numerous nieces and nephews, along with many friends, mourn her passing. A Funeral Mass is scheduled at St. Clement Parish in Chicago on December 27, 2025.
