The Gambia Revenue Authority (GRA), with support from the World Customs Organization (WCO) and Zambia, has launched a five-day training program for customs officers on the WCO Post Clearance Audit (PCA) Diagnostic Mission. Funded by His Majesty’s Revenue and Customs of the United
Kingdom, the training aims to enhance the capacity of GRA officers in modern compliance management. The program includes a comprehensive diagnostic and gap analysis of GRA’s current PCA function, benchmarking it against WCO guidelines and international standards.

The implementation of a robust Post Clearance Audit program is crucial for modernizing customs administration. By moving beyond traditional frontier controls to intelligence-led and risk-based compliance management, the GRA can expedite the release of goods while ensuring compliance through systematic audits.
