What's Happening?
Arizona Gold & Silver has completed a sampling program at the Silverton Project in Nevada, revealing the size of the antimony target on the property. The project hosts a Carlin-type gold system and an antimony-gold-silver vein exposed at the surface. The sampling program collected 14 samples across stibnite-quartz veins and adjacent tuff, returning grades up to 7.95% antimony. The average grade of all samples was 1.38% antimony. The US Bureau of Land Management has accepted a financial guarantee for a proposed drilling program, which will include 27 drillholes from 17 pads.
Why It's Important?
The identification of a significant antimony target at Silverton is crucial as antimony is a critical mineral used in flame retardants, batteries, and other industrial applications. The discovery could enhance domestic antimony supply, reducing reliance on imports and strengthening the U.S. position in the global antimony market. The project’s development could also contribute to local economic growth and job creation in Nevada.
What's Next?
Arizona Gold & Silver plans to proceed with the drilling program to further explore the antimony target. The program aims to define the extent of the mineralisation and assess its commercial viability. Successful drilling results could lead to expanded exploration and development activities, potentially attracting investment and partnerships.
