The Southern Section high school boys' water polo playoffs are underway, with several teams advancing in the Open Division. In the third round of Pool A, Newport Harbor defeated Oaks Christian with a score
of 12-6, while JSerra triumphed over Laguna Beach 14-6. In Pool B, Corona del Mar edged out Santa Margarita 13-11, and Mira Costa won against Long Beach Wilson 10-6. The quarterfinals are scheduled for Thursday, with notable matches including Loyola versus San Marcos at Dos Pueblos and Mater Dei facing Sage Hill. The playoffs will continue with crossover rounds and semifinals leading up to the finals on November 15 at Mt. San Antonio College.
