What's Happening?
A Wish Come True is organizing its annual Weekend for Wishes fundraiser from March 13-17, aimed at granting wishes to children with life-threatening illnesses. The event will feature the Shamrocks and Shenanigans dance at the Venus de Milo in Swansea
and the Hats for Wishes fundraiser across various locations in Bristol County. This year, the fundraiser supports Dominic and Oliver, both 3 years old, from Swansea and Somerset, respectively, who wish to visit Give Kids The World Village and theme parks like Disney and Universal. Madison, a 15-year-old from Mansfield with cerebral palsy, also shares this wish. Community members are encouraged to participate by visiting local businesses and making donations, which will be acknowledged with a Wish Hat displayed at the establishment.
Why It's Important?
The Weekend for Wishes fundraiser highlights the power of community support in providing joy and hope to children facing severe health challenges. By participating, community members contribute to fulfilling the dreams of these children, offering them a respite from their daily struggles. The event not only raises funds but also fosters a sense of solidarity and compassion within the community. It underscores the importance of collective efforts in making a positive impact on the lives of vulnerable children and their families.
What's Next?
As the event approaches, organizers and volunteers will continue to rally community support and finalize preparations for the fundraiser. Participants can expect a weekend filled with activities and opportunities to contribute to the cause. The success of the event could inspire similar initiatives in other communities, further expanding the reach and impact of A Wish Come True's mission.
