What's Happening?
The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is actively seeking an experienced international specialist to support a project aimed at strengthening water resource governance and resilience to climate change in the Aral Sea region of Uzbekistan. This
initiative, funded by the Government of Japan, focuses on transforming water resource management through an integrated approach that includes governance strengthening, infrastructure modernization, digital solutions, and community support for climate-resilient practices. The project aligns with Uzbekistan's national priorities on water security and climate resilience, contributing to the Uzbekistan 2030 Strategy and other related policies. It will be implemented in four pilot districts of Karakalpakstan: Kegeyli, Chimbay, Karauzyak, and Bozatau.
