GEA has joined the European Union's 'Exquisheat' project, a three-year initiative focused on decarbonizing the food and beverage industry through heat pump technology. The project involves analyzing industrial processes and developing solutions for applications
like pasteurization and cooling. It supports the EU's Strategic Energy Technology Plan and the Net Zero Industry Act, aiming to increase production capacity for net-zero technologies. By 2030, the EU intends to cover 40% of its annual demand for these technologies, aiding in achieving climate and energy targets for 2030 and climate neutrality by 2050.
