and Virginia. The recall was initiated following reports of digestive illnesses linked to the consumption of these blueberries, with twelve confirmed cases of E. coli O145 reported between May 11 and June 5. E. coli O145 is a Shiga toxin-producing strain that can cause severe stomach cramps, diarrhea, and vomiting. While most individuals recover within a week, the infection can lead to serious complications like hemolytic uremic syndrome, especially in vulnerable populations such as young children and the elderly. Consumers are advised to check for lot code 60401 and a best-by date of February 9, 2028, and to return or discard affected products.
