Aurora Health Care, a part of Advocate Health, has announced key partners and programs for its nearly $50 million development, The Beacon, a health and wellness hub set to open in spring 2027. Located in the former Wisconsin Avenue School in Milwaukee,
The Beacon aims to transform the building into a community-driven destination offering expanded access to resources for physical, mental, and social wellness. Among the announced partners are Community Smiles Dental, which will provide preventive and restorative dental care for underserved children, special healthcare needs patients, and expectant mothers. Goodwill Greater Milwaukee & Chicago will serve as a workforce development partner, offering career exploration, training, employment coaching, and job placement services. Other offerings will include housing stability services through Guest House of Milwaukee, medical-legal advocacy via Legal Action of Wisconsin, maternal health and family support programs, healthy aging services, and community fitness opportunities. The project emphasizes community input, with over 1,000 voices contributing to its design and program priorities. The Beacon will also feature Advocate Health’s first renewable geothermal system, designed for energy efficiency and net-neutral building costs.
