East Carolina University (ECU) is celebrating the 20th anniversary of its Voyages of Discovery Series during the 2026-27 season. The series, which provides low-cost access to impactful innovators and prominent leaders, will feature U.S. Poet Laureate
Ada Limón and science educator Bill Nye. Ada Limón, an award-winning author and MacArthur and Guggenheim Fellow, will open the season on November 5, giving a presentation, reading from her work, and participating in a Q&A. Bill Nye, an Emmy-winning science educator and CEO of the Planetary Society, will visit on March 18, 2027, for a moderated Q&A event. The season will also include a fundraising Discovery Ball to commemorate two decades of bringing distinguished speakers to campus and the community.
