What's Happening?
Kia has completed its first platform beyond vehicle (PBV) production facility, EVO Plant East, in Hwaseong, South Korea, and has begun construction on EVO Plant West. The facilities are part of Kia's investment
in electrification and sustainable mobility, with a combined annual production capacity of 250,000 units. EVO Plant East will produce 100,000 PV5 units annually, while EVO Plant West will produce 150,000 PV7 and other PBV units starting in 2027. The completion ceremony was attended by key figures, including South Korea's Prime Minister Min-seok Kim and Hyundai Motor Group's Executive Chair Euisun Chung.
