What's Happening?
Distalmotion, a MedTech company, has closed a $150M Series G financing round to accelerate the U.S. adoption of its DEXTER® Robotic Surgery System. Led by Revival Healthcare Capital, the funding will focus on expanding into the Ambulatory Surgery Center
(ASC) market, a rapidly growing segment in surgical care. DEXTER® is designed for flexibility and outpatient sites, offering mobility, integration, and compatibility with existing OR technologies, enhancing surgical workflows and cost-effective operations.
Why It's Important?
The investment in Distalmotion's DEXTER® system represents a significant step in advancing robotic surgery in the U.S., particularly in the ASC market. This expansion aligns with the shift towards efficient, outpatient surgical care, potentially improving patient outcomes and reducing healthcare costs. The system's design for flexibility and integration into various OR settings can make robotic surgery more accessible, supporting the broader adoption of advanced surgical technologies.
