He was deeply committed to his work and his community, often engaging in creative projects such as developing ChicagoSports.com and restoring his 19th-century home. Knue was also a passionate supporter of his alma maters' sports teams, the Illinois Fighting Illini and the Lyons Township Lions. He is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, and siblings. A Celebration of Life service is scheduled for November 17, 2025, at Hallowell & James Funeral Home in Countryside, Illinois.
