The State Police of Massachusetts and Rhode Island carried out a joint enforcement operation targeting commercial motor vehicles along Route 146 at the state line. This 12-hour operation involved the use of portable
axle scales for weight and size enforcement, a Performance-Based Brake Tester for evaluating braking performance, and inspections for hazardous materials, oversize, and overweight vehicles. The operation resulted in the identification of 212 federal and state violations, with 30 vehicles and 20 drivers being placed out of service.
