Sarasota County Animal Services is experiencing a surge in the number of adoptable pets, with the facility nearing its capacity. Currently, there are 12 adoptable cats and 46 kittens available, alongside
26 dogs, with more animals arriving daily. The adoption kennel can accommodate 19 dogs, with additional space available if needed. Dana Judge, Media Relations Specialist for the Sheriff's Office, highlighted the urgency of the situation, noting that adoption rates typically decline during the summer months. To encourage adoptions, the shelter is offering a special promotion where two kittens can be adopted for the price of one at $60, and dogs can be adopted for $40. These fees cover essential services such as spaying/neutering, microchipping, and initial vaccinations. The shelter is calling on the community to help find loving homes for these animals as soon as possible.
