The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved an update to the prescribing information for Amgen's IMDELLTRA® (tarlatamab-dlle), significantly reducing the recommended monitoring time for the first two doses of the treatment. Patients receiving
IMDELLTRA will now require monitoring for 6 to 8 hours from the start of their first two infusions, a substantial decrease from the previous recommendation of 22 to 24 hours. Additionally, patients will undergo a follow-up assessment, including vital signs, the day after each of these initial two doses. This change is specifically for individuals with extensive-stage small cell lung cancer (ES-SCLC), an aggressive form of lung cancer where most patients experience disease progression after first-line treatment.
