On World Soil Day, Varda AG, in collaboration with Yara International ASA, announced its transition into the Varda Foundation, a non-profit organization focused on improving transparency, collaboration,
and data accessibility in global agri-food systems. The Foundation, headquartered in Rome, Italy, aims to strengthen digital public goods supporting soil health, sustainable farming, and resilient supply chains. Assets and intellectual property from Varda AG, including Global FieldID and SoilHive, have been transferred to the Foundation, which will operate under a neutral governance model. Dr. Simone Sala leads the Foundation as Executive Director, supported by a multidisciplinary team. The transition is backed by a diverse Board of Directors with expertise in sustainable agriculture, soil science, and digital innovation.
