The first order, executed in July 2025, involved 25,000 tons of CO2e emission avoidance using second-generation biofuels. This partnership utilizes a 'book and claim' mechanism, allowing customers to claim emission reductions separately from the physical use of the fuel. Both companies are committed to ambitious decarbonization targets, with Hapag-Lloyd aiming for net-zero fleet emissions by 2045 and DHL by 2050.
