What's Happening?
Aminex is advancing its Ntorya gas project in Tanzania, with pipeline construction and upstream activities aligned for first gas in 2026. The pipeline, which will connect the Ntorya gas field to the Madimba gas processing plant, is expected to arrive
in Tanzania by late January 2026. Groundwork and pipelaying are set to begin shortly thereafter, with completion targeted for the third quarter of 2026. Operator ARA Petroleum Tanzania is preparing to bring the Ntorya-2 well into production, with contracting for necessary services well underway. The project has a budget exceeding $50 million, approved by Tanzanian authorities, covering drilling, workovers, and pipeline-related activities.
Why It's Important?
The Ntorya gas project is pivotal for Tanzania's energy sector, promising to enhance the country's energy security and support its economic development. The project is expected to contribute significantly to Tanzania's industrial growth and improve living standards by providing a stable energy supply. For Aminex, the project represents a strategic investment in Tanzania's burgeoning gas sector, potentially leading to increased revenues and market presence. The development aligns with Tanzania's broader energy transition goals, aiming to leverage natural gas as a bridge fuel towards a more sustainable energy future.
