What's Happening?
The United Kingdom and the Netherlands have entered into a $3.2 billion maritime partnership to develop new amphibious transport ships. These vessels, based on a Dutch design, will be constructed in UK shipyards in collaboration with Dutch industry. Each
country will operate four of these 160-meter, 15,000-tonne ships, which are designed to transport troops, vehicles, and equipment, including drones. This agreement aims to strengthen the UK-Netherlands amphibious force, enhancing their military capabilities and cooperation.
