India has launched AgriStack, a digital public infrastructure aimed at improving service delivery to farmers. As of August 2026, over 10.31 crore Farmer IDs have been created, integrating farmers' details with digitized land records. AgriStack includes
foundational registries like the Farmer Registry, Geo-Referenced Village Maps, and Crop Sown Registry, maintained by state governments. The initiative aligns with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, ensuring farmers' data privacy and security. AgriStack aims to expedite credit disbursements, access to crop insurance, and other farmer-centric services.
