What's Happening?
Uganda's $5 billion East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP) is 75% complete, marking a significant milestone for the region's energy sector. The pipeline, stretching 1,443 kilometers from Uganda to Tanzania's Tanga port, is crucial for exporting crude
oil from the Albertine Graben. With $3.3 billion already invested, the project is set to become the world's longest electrically heated crude pipeline. The completion of EACOP is essential for the production at Uganda's Tilenga and Kingfisher oilfields, operated by TotalEnergies and CNOOC, which are also advancing rapidly.
