Porsche has announced details of the high-voltage system for its upcoming Cayenne Electric SUV, set to launch in the coming weeks. The vehicle is built on an evolved version of the Premium Platform Electric and features an 800-volt architecture. This
system allows the SUV to charge from 10% to 80% in under 16 minutes at up to 400kW, adding more than 300km of range in just 10 minutes. The Cayenne Electric boasts a range of over 600km according to the WLTP standard, with prototypes achieving over 563km in highway tests. The vehicle's high-voltage battery, with a gross energy content of 113 kWh, is integrated into the vehicle structure, enhancing both energy storage and structural integrity. The battery's design includes six interchangeable modules and 192 large-format pouch cells, offering a 7% higher energy density than the current Taycan battery. The cooling system ensures precise temperature control, optimizing performance regardless of external conditions.
